Courtenay has no off-leash parks. The City says so plainly, and dogs stay on a leash in all public spaces. Courtenay’s licence and bylaw rules are below.
Comox
Comox has one off-leash park, at the former Comox Elementary site, with a space for small dogs. Everywhere else in Town parks dogs stay leashed, the North-East Woods included. Comox’s rules are below.

Are there off-leash dog parks in the Comox Valley?
Not in Courtenay: the City says there are no off-leash parks there, and dogs must be leashed in all public spaces. Comox has one, at the former Comox Elementary site on Rodello Street and Fairbairn Avenue, with a small-dog space. In Comox Valley Regional District parks dogs must be under control, and several parks need a leash all year or in certain months.
Where is the nearest after-hours vet to Courtenay?
After hours, Courtenay Veterinary Clinic and Comox Valley Animal Hospital both point callers to VetWise, which Courtenay Veterinary Clinic lists as a telemedicine service.
